I must say that I was pleasantly surpirised when I picked up the debut release from the new band featuring Tom Gabriel Warrior (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Apolloyn Sun). From the beginning of the dark and doom-filled opening track "Goetia', you are taken on a journey into probably the most evil, and heavy fucking shit that Warrior has come up with in 25 years. Each track comes with a linear note by Tom G. Warrior that explains the feelings he had when he wrote the song and the history behind it. It is quite obvious that some of the lyrics are a direct bullseye as to what finally dissolved the remains of Celtic Frost in 2007,.and the end of Warrior working with Martin Ain. A track included called "My Pain' for instance was to be possibly included on the Frost comeback album 'Monotheist', but it never happened. "Eparistera Daimones' is epic sounding. The guitars are dark and very heavy and at times, slow and doomy. But then we have other songs where the guitars become raw and fast in the vein of old Hellhammer! Let's talk about the vocals for a minute. The vocals are bloody brilliant. Some songs even use female voice and let's just say that Warrior's classic vocals never sounded better. While I really like ''Monotheist", I will boldly state that this Triptykon album is far superior.

One of my current favorite songs on the album is the track "In Shrouds Decayed". A slow doom anthem that is evil and HEAVY!! A perfect song to doom bang to. The more i listen to this album, the deeper I fall in love with it. I will go so far as to call it a blackened doom masterpiece! The musicians should be very proud of this effort because it does not fall short and is solid from beginning to end. This will appeal to all fans of classic Hellhammer/Celtic Frost. As there are obvious nods. Another standout original track is "Myopic Empire" which features a eerie Grand piano and actually, this song made the hair on my arms and neck raise. Bravo to Triptykon for this awesome piece of art. Speaking of art, the Giger artwork that graces the cover of "Eparistera Daimones" is fucking killer. A beautiful compliment to a fantastic album. I look forward to more from this band. And I look forward to hearing and seeing them live at the 2010 Edition of the "Hole in the Sky" festival in Bergen, Norway. Go out and get this album now!!
