There Baaaaaaaaaack! And with intense brutality, totally crushing guitar solos and decent vocals. It's been a very long time since we have heard from the Pestilence camp. They are reformed and have unleashed this new album of brutal, technical death metal. Personally, I am a fan of the "Spheres" album. I always thought that album was way ahead of its time and also not given enough recognition for the brillant piece of work that it is. Tony Choy's bass work is insane on "Resurrection Macabre. Peter Wildoer (Darkane) drums on this new Pestilence and does a damn fine job I must say. Patrick Mameli does all guitar work and vocals here and I must give him props for releasing this excellent piece of death metal. Opening with "Devouring Frenzy", "Resurrection Macabre" has one killer track after another. One of my favorites is "Hate Suicide". The drumming is frantic and stand out. Great song!! The song after that is about as brutal as Pestilence get on the new one. "Synthetic Grotesque". The technical riffs, blast beats and Patrick's gutteral vocals compliment each other and make it a stand out track. "Dehydrated II" is cool. We first heard Dehydraded on the 1989 classic "Consuming Impulse" album (one of the best old school death metal albums EVER). I also like "Hangman" its pretty well put together with some super sick as shit solos. Speaking of sick, "Resurrection Macabre" closes with this disturbing little track called "In Sickness and Death". A true headbanging anthem and a great close to a step in the right direction from Holland's Pestilence!! There are also three bonus tracks included at the end. Re-recorded versions of old Pestilence classics!! "Chemo-Therapy" from Malleus Maleficarum , "Out of the Body" from Consuming Impulse and "Lost Souls from Testimony of the Ancients ! I highly recommend this for fans of Suffocation, Death and the old school death metal bands out there. Good job dudes!! I am digging this. Tracklisting:
